COMMISSION FOR TEACHING and EDUCATION in MADAGASCAR

PLAN FOR THE SCHOOL YEAR 2013 – 2014
“Evangelise children and their culture through teaching and education. Inspired by faith: through education harmonise and ameliorate human relationships so as to give dignity to people and enable them to take responsibility.”

SOME ACTIVITIES WHICH TOOK PLACE DURING THE LONG VACATION
A session on French in Ambatolampy, led by Sisters Irene and Marie Luc, from 13th August to 5th September 2013.
French is the accepted language for teaching in Madagascar. However, we are aware that since 1985 many teachers and students do not know much French. So we need to address this fact. The participants were ten Sisters who had just finished their Novitiate, four second year novices and four temporary professed Sisters. The aim was to instil a love for the French language and to improve basic grammar and spoken French.
At the end of the course, we organised little sketches and songs as a way of applying their learning.
