Closing of the 40th anniversary, SaintPierre Chanel High School in Ihosy

Our congregation has collaborated with this high school for the past 40 years. Currently, Sister Hanta Euphrasia is our representative there.

The St Pierre Chanel High School in Ihosy celebrated the closing of its 40th anniversary during four days of activities, from Thursday 23 to Sunday 26 April 2026, around the theme: "A house for all, source of life". Our congregation has collaborated with this high school for the past 40 years. Currently, Sister Hanta Euphrasia is our representative there.

The celebration began with a carnival across the city bringing together students and educators. In the afternoon, there will be sports competitions for the students. On Friday, April 24, a solemn mass was presided over by Father Randrianirina Jean Noël, vicar general of the diocese of Ihosy, surrounded by priests and the head of Catholic education.

In his homily, the father recalled the mission of the Catholic school, to form the person as a whole and to transmit knowledge that carries wisdom. He encouraged students to embrace education as a pillar for their future, while reminding educators to continue their commitment. The mass continued with the inauguration of the statue of Saint Peter Chanel and a covered platform, erected in memory of these 40 years. The current director, Brother Julien, highlighted the school's ongoing efforts to provide quality education, based on Christian values. He also expressed his gratitude to the former managers and collaborators.

For his part, the Marist Provincial Brother, Tiamaro Alphonse, thanked the entire educational community for its dedication and reaffirmed the school's desire to give the best to the students in the years to come. This celebration marks an important stage in the life of the school, looking towards a promising future.
