Thanksgiving for the life of sister Marie-Armelle
Sister Marie-Armelle
« Happy are the servants whom the Master, when he arrives, will find vigilant. » (Lk 12:37)
This May 18, 2026, the Lord called Sister Marie-Armelle (born Mélanie Rasoarivelo), of the community of Bethany in Ambatolampy, to Himself.
After many years devoted to teaching in Madagascar, Sister Marie-Armelle prepared for the mission ad extra in Leuven, Belgium, from September 1990 to January 1991.
Then, from February 1991 to the end of April 2006, she was sent to the Province of Chile. She lived her pastoral mission mainly in San Javier and Santa Cristina.
During her last years of mission in Longaví and Requegua, she was involved in pastoral work while giving religious classes, putting her talents at the service of Christian communities with simplicity and fidelity.
Returning to Madagascar in April 2006, she continued her commitment to pastoral care in her province of origin before joining, in 2024, the community of Bethany in Ambatolampy.
In recent times, Sister Marie-Armelle had been deeply tried by several family bereavements, trials that undoubtedly weakened her health. Today we give thanks for this life humbly offered, marked by fidelity, missionary service and love for the people entrusted to her mission.
We assure of our prayers, her community of Bethany, her family, the Province of Madagascar, the Delegation of Chile and our entire Congregation.
May the Risen Lord welcome Sister Marie-Armelle into the peace and light of his Kingdom.
Happy are the servants whom the Master, when he arrives, will find vigilant. (Lk 12:37)
In the Easter hope, we entrust our sister to the tenderness of the Father, certain that nothing that has been lived in love is lost in God
