The stages of formation

"We co-operate actively with God's plan for us...becoming progressively our real selves and ever more able to engage in the building up of a world that is more human." (Rule of life 64)

the postulancy (from 6 months to 2 years):

is a time for dialogue and for the young person and the congregation to get to know each other.

the novitiate (2 years):

is a time of initiation into religious life, into prayer, and into community living. It ends with a commitment in the congregation for 3 years which is renewable and then a sending on mission.

 The years following the novitiate (from 6 to 9 years):

are a time of integration into the congregation and the confirmation of one’s vocation. It ends with a final commitment.
