Ignatius of Loyola (1491 – 1556)

Light on our path

« Search for and find God in all things »

Ignatius contemplated the historical Christ in what he did, his gestures, the places where he lived. Putting oneself in the footsteps of Jesus’ humanity leads one to desire “an interior knowledge of the Lord…so as to love him and serve him.”
Humble searching for what God wills “here and now” requires a fundamental attitude, that of interior freedom and total availability to God so as to respond more fully to the love of God and to give oneself more to his service.
