News from the Sisters of Christ in the Chilean Province since September 2015

The challenge of Communion among lay people who take part in Charismatic groups in our Church.

The Church’s mission is shared just as is the mission of consecrated people and lay people. A commission of the Conference of Major Religious superiors of Chile (CONFERRE) entitled, “Together we are More” organised a second National gathering of lay and religious people, attended by 110 people who came from different regions of Chili. Three Sisters and a few associates of our Congregation attended.

Laudato Si

 A second workshop on the encyclical “Laudato Si” under the auspices of the Conference of the Major Religious of Chili. (CONFERRE)
After reading the encyclical, the theme presented was “Move from an ecology of thought to a lived ecology.”
This led us to question whether our living areas are ecological. What can we do to care more for our “common home” on the level of community and of apostolic work?

Meeting of the Associates of the Congregation to reflect on “Laudato Si”.

Every year, all the associates from our Province have a meeting and the Sisters who are free accompany them. This meeting took place on 7th November in the Franciscans’ house at San Franscisco de Mostazal (61 Kilometres south of Santiago). During the final celebration at the end of the day, the associates renewed their commitment.

Pilgrimage with young people

On 17th October, there was a pilgrimage for young people to the shrine of Saint Teresita of the Andes, 27 kilometres away. Six Sisters from the Province accompanied them.
