Remembering our common history and giving thanks
Together, let's go further
"Leave the land of your Father... (Gen. 12:1); 'Go... (Ex. 3:10); 'Do not be afraid, Mary... (Luke 1:30. Uprooting, loss of human certainties, but also docility, trust... these are the conditions that will allow God to lead his People to the place of the Promise, to the fulfillment of this Promise, through Mary, in Jesus Christ... Between these two histories, that of the People of God, of which we are one, and that of our Congregation, I dare to emphasize a certain analogy. One day there was a call for a gathering around the MYSTERY OF CHRIST, we perceived it, and we set out on a long walk, at the breath of the Spirit. … And then came the UNION, on December 27, 1976. It is indeed a spiritual event that we are talking about... of a gathering willed by God, in his Church, through a human approach, certainly with its hesitations, its gropings, its advances... but above all, a process of faith in this God who can achieve great things with those who trust totally in Him..."
Sister Thérèse de LARMINAT, Superior General, Preface to SISTERS OF CHRIST UNION MYSTERIUM CHRISTI, Special Issue.
For fifty years now, with Trust, Faith and Hope, we have been pursuing our path willed by God, working in the midst of a world that is both divided and striving for Unity in Fidelity to our Charism:
"Sisters of Christ, Union Mysterium Christi, We recognize in our history the action of the Spirit who calls us to be WITNESSES OF JESUS CHRIST PRINCIPLE and ARTISAN of UNITY, and at the same time, introduces us at the heart of the Father's Plan:
"Bringing the whole Universe together under one head, Christ" (Eph 1:10)
We receive from the Spirit, the authenticated Mission by the Church to be artisans of Unity in Jesus Christ. » (Constitutions N°1)
God our Father, continues to associate us with his plan to:
"TO GATHER TOGETHER IN UNITY THE SCATTERED CHILDREN OF GOD and to INAUGURATE THE NEW CREATION".
We are invited to revisit the experience of the Congregation during these 50 years and to give thanks for it.
« Together, let's go further »
…we are taking a new step in our life as Sisters of Christ and we continue to hear this insistent call to "spread", "to enlarge the space of our tent".
Words of Cardinal Marty pronounced during the homily at the Mass of December 29th, 1976, as they continue to speak to us forcefully:
"The Spirit of God is there continually with us... The Holy Spirit has surprises in store for us! God's imagination and Love are never exhausted... The Holy Spirit will be there at every stage, always provoking you to new things... You must never be bored... never be discouraged... Demolishing is always quite easy. Well, the Spirit does not demolish, the Spirit always builds.
So, be builders for tomorrow! »
Strengthened by these words, let us continue our march! Happy Birthday on August 6th, 2025!
Let's enter into the celebration of our 50th anniversary with a lot of creativity and joy!
