CAMEROON : 14 November 2015 A new stage in the life of the Region...

All the Sisters in the Cameroon Region gathered in Nkongsamba on 14th November. At the beginning of their mandate in general government, Sister Emerentienne, newly elected Superior General and Claudie Berger, General Counsellor, arrived in Cameroon to meet the Sisters in their areas of Mission and to install the new Regional Superior, Mama Viviane and her Counsellors.

8th General Chapter of the Sisters of Christ – 22nd June to 17th July 2015

33 Capitulants gathered together from Cameroon, Chile, Madagascar, England, Belgium, Italy and France, have listened to descriptions of life in their respective countries and talked about the major issues of the mission of the Congregation in which the Sisters are involved. They work on drawing up orientations for the years. A General Superior and her council have been elected for the next mandate.

Sixty years Madagascar!

Sister Françoise Marie Rey left France in 1961 for the mission in Madagascar. She taught for eleven years before working in the formation of young Malagasy sisters for seventeen years. Since 1989 she has worked with the children of the orphanage in Faratsiho. Arriving at the age of 80, the orphans of Faratsiho wished her a happy birthday.

The community of Puente Alto. Sisters María Elena Vega, Emma Razafindravelo and Mirella Riquelme form this community. We lived in Puente Alto from 1st 2011 until 4th March 2015.

You did not choose me, no, I chose you... John 15 :16 This was the scriptural passage from which Sr Florence Etanki Elumpe drew her strength to surrender her life to God totally on the 10th of May 2014 in St Joseph's Parish Church, Tiko.

The ceremony of Final Profession began with a Eucharistic Celebration at 10:00 am prompt officiated by his Lordship Immanuel Bushu, bishop of Buea. It was a grace-filled event for the Cameroon Region in particular and the Congregation of the Sisters of Christ as a whole, to receive another permanent member into the Congregation. We continue to pray for Sr Florence and we thank God immensely for her biological family who supported her in answering God's call in a special way.

It was on the dawn of the 3rd of August 2013 that Sr Shavnyuy Yvette, freely and happily committed herself ,by vows of Poverty Chastity and Obedience, as a sign of an engagement to follow Christ more closely in the congregation.

Echoes of the golden jubilee of St Chantal's College at Soanierena, Madagascar

During the celebration of the 50th anniversary of our school, the staff organised three days of an unforgettable festival from the 26th to 28th April 2013. Each class took part in a long procession as well as different drama scenes, all shown in the assembly hall LAVASOA. Parents of the students and many other people were invited. These days united us in laughter and joy but it allowed us to live and to reinforce the theme, “A FAMILY WHICH NEVER CEASES TO RENEW ITSELF”.
