Sister Marie Aimée, General Councillor, delegate of the General House, sent these details: Sister Maria Elena, Chilean, has been appointed delegate and Sisters Florence, Cameroonian, Nelly, Chilean, and Marie Espérance, Malagasy form her reflection team - a very international team.

Sister Marie Aimée addressed a few words that accompanied Maria Elena's dispatch: "This hibiscus, with its many promises of life, is an image of the Congregation of the Sisters of Christ in Chile. In order to grow and produce the expected fruits, you have to care about it, know how to see what it needs and take care of it. This service was entrusted to María Elena, who was appointed by the Superior General, to be her delegate in Chile... If she is the delegate of the Superior General in Chile, she must be able to count first on her team who, with their gifts, talents, and diverse experiences... will collaborate with her, but Maria Elena must also be able to count on each one of you, Sisters of Christ in Chile. »

 "To signify that with the best of themselves, each of the sisters would be able to contribute to the life of the Delegation, to the development of the charism of the Sisters of Christ in Chile, Marie Aimée invited each one "to come and place around the hibiscus her talents represented by a coloured stone." The Mass was celebrated by Father José Raad, pastor of the parish of Christ the Redeemer in La Florida, who said in his homily:

We are very familiar with this text that we have just heard from Saint John 20:2-8 ... Saint John, whom we celebrate today, was the first of those who had the experience of meeting Jesus and believing.  Today our sister (María Elena) has been appointed delegate, I think the text speaks to us clearly because it contains two very important elements. It is certain that the figure of John, and that of Peter, are linked to memory and prophecy.  

Memory, Peter, prophecy John, the youngest: the one who runs first, the one who is the fastest, but the one who respects Peter because he does not enter, he looks from the door of the tomb, he enters only after Peter, who, in this case, is the head of our Church. This is why Memory and Prophecy, are two elements that you must also learn to use in this service that the congregation is asking of you, because it is clear that being in front of all your sisters will require from you, first an enormous effort, an immense effort, and also the ability to ask the Lord to help you in discernment, because it is not easy to coordinate,  to delegate, to be forward... »

And to all of you, the sisters, the associates, always put her in your prayers. ... In your daily prayers, hopefully! for it is essential to feel supported, protected, also by the affection and prayers of all of you... When you take on responsibilities before the community, towards your brothers and sisters, no matter where you are, you must learn to manage loneliness. We must learn to live with this, to work closely together in prayer. Let us ask the Lord for you, for the community, for this service... so that the Lord may shelter us. (Father José Raad)

 "Today, with you, I thank God for this service that is once again entrusted to me. I am honoured to receive this second mandate as a delegate of the Delegation of Chile, accompanied by Sisters Nelly, Florence and Emma, who will accompany me in this mission. I put myself at the service of each one of you with the gifts and abilities that the Lord has given me, trusting in God and in the power of the Holy Spirit to accompany our communities. I sincerely thank the General Council for the trust placed in me and, in a special way, in Sister Marie Aimée for her fraternal presence at this important time. I ask for your support, your understanding and your prayers. I encourage you to continue to bear witness with our lives, being truly witnesses of Jesus Christ, Principle and Maker of Unity, as expressed in our charism. »

The celebration was followed by a fraternal moment of sharing where the photos speak for themselves.

Sister María Luisa

With you, the members of her family, with her friends and all those who knew her, today we want to remember her life and thank the Lord for it.

Throughout these rich years, Sister Tugdual profoundly marked the history of our Congregation of the Sisters of Christ – Union Mysterium Christi. A teacher, then a director, she devoted the first part of her religious life to Catholic education.

She then held many responsibilities in the service of the Congregation: federal secretary during the journey towards the Union, general councillor until 1991, general treasurer from 1985 to 1998. Through her sense of the Church, her fidelity and her discernment, she has contributed to accompanying the important stages of our common history. Through her skills in canon law, she has also helped several religious congregations.

Sister Tugdual was profoundly a woman of the Church. She was marked by the impetus of the Second Vatican Council, whose call for a more fraternal, more missionary Church, more attentive to the signs of the Spirit in the world, she had accepted with conviction. She nourished her faith through reading and particularly liked to reread the works of Pope Benedict XVI on Jesus, which helped her to deepen ever more deeply the mystery of Christ.

Until the end, she remained attentive to the life of the universal Church. She followed with interest the synodal process desired by Pope Francis and liked to share with others on the issues of the synod. I hope to see the Church seek together the paths of the future.

For as long as it was possible for her, she was involved in parish life, especially in Tréguier and then here, in Merdrignac, where many were able to appreciate her faithful presence.

Sister Tugdual was also very attached to her family. She kept a deep and faithful connection with her family, and she was always happy with their visits. These family relationships meant a lot to her and were part of the richness of her life.

Until these last moments, she remained surprisingly present in spirit and attentive to the life of the Congregation. She participated in the consultations for the appointment of the Regional of Europe and its council, and until recently she encouraged us to "found elsewhere in another country", faithful to the missionary impulse that inhabited her.

Not long ago, she also offered us a beautiful testimony in a book that has been published on the history of the Congregation in Merdrignac, as if to transmit memory and hope.

How can we not give thanks for such a long and given life?

Already, Sister Tugdual, we miss you. But we also believe in your joy at finding the Lord again, as well as Sisters Vincent and Françoise d'Amboise, your two sisters, the other members of your family who have already left for Him, and Sister Thérèse de Larminat, with whom you have shared so much in the service of the Union.

In the faith of the Church and in the communion of saints, we entrust you to the tenderness of the Father.And we simply say thank you to God for your life, Sister Tugdual, for your fidelity, and for the love of the Church that you have passed on to us.

Lord, we thank you for the life of our Sister Tugdual. Let her now enter into the light and peace of your Kingdom.

Sister Pascale 

On December 26 at the Saint Germain nursing home in La Tronche (Isère) a festive mass brought together the 6 sisters of the house and the 4 sisters of Grenoble plus the residents, during which Father Devers underlined the importance of the witness of the sisters of Christ and motivated them in the dynamics of religious life and the hope of communion,  of peace and reconciliation in daily life.

Our commitment to live fraternity in diversity and our evangelical audacity to dare to take new paths in response to the call of the Spirit.

In the afternoon, a celebration recalled the importance of fidelity to our history, our commitment to live fraternity in diversity and our evangelical audacity to dare to take new paths in response to the call of the Spirit.

On December 27 in Retournac, all the sisters of the 6 communities and the Associates of the Lyon group (37 in total) are happy and enthusiastic to live this fraternal time of remembrance but also of momentum for tomorrow. The festive mass was the expression of this... But there are no parties without fraternal feasts where exchanges, songs, dances were on the program! The welcome was such that those who could not return to Lyon or Grenoble found there hospitality for the night! 

On December 28th, on the way to Saint Sigolène to live with the sisters in the nursing home, the same celebration as in Saint Germain during which we were able to hear again a call from Sister Thérèse de Larminat, our1st Superior General! What an emotion! But also experience of the same... fraternity, ending with a tea worthy of Babeth's feast!

Who are we? How was the Congregation of the Sisters of Christ constituted? Where did this movement come from? Sr. Mirella showed the origin of the 7 Congregations, the first steps towards a rapprochement between them, the important dates. And so step by step to the Union.

Sister also summarized the 50 years of the Sisters of Christ. At the end of her presentation, she invited the sisters and associates to share as a group: What do you think of the theme? What touched you the most? Participants were invited to share their impressions as a group.

People were happy and amazed by the history of the Congregation.

Fr. Pablo Arteaga offered us a precious space for reflection and formation: What is a Jubilee? His subject was interesting and the way he presented it was very dynamic.

The meeting ended with the Eucharist celebrated by Father Sergio Candia, who was also of the Divine Word. The associates renewed their commitment to the charism of the Sisters of Christ during the Eucharist.

It was a particularly significant meeting, marked by the joy of celebrating the 50th anniversary of our congregation. A meeting that strengthened our spirit by renewing our impetus to live and to witness through our mission and our charism. We ended the meeting with a fraternal and joyfully shared snack.

Delegation of Chile

The solemn Mass, presided over by Bishop Razakarivony Fulgence in the chapel of Santa Maria, was the heart of this celebration. In his homily, the Bishop urged the sisters to cultivate a deep union, in the image of Christ. He recalled that the birth of Jesus and his resurrection must illuminate our daily lives, guiding us in our mission with hope and fidelity. On this occasion, the Bishop also wished the sisters a jubilee filled with graces, in 2026.

Sister Hanta, leader of the Santa Maria community, expressed her deep gratitude to the Bishop, the priests and all the associates present. She congratulated the entire congregation for this beautiful feast, emphasizing the joy shared by all.

After the mass, a convivial light meal brought the participants together, followed by traditional dances that expressed joy. This feast strengthened the bonds between the sisters and the associates, testifying to the spiritual vitality of the congregation. This celebration may be a renewal for all the sisters of Christ, in following the Risen Christ.

Sister Faria Nordine

It took place in Alakamisy, Ambohimaha, Antsirabe, Ambatolampy and Amparibe. The Ongoing Formation Team was able to take advantage of the month of October, dedicated to the universal mission, and the highlight of our 50-year jubilee. The formation was led by Fr. Randrianasolo Charles Arsène, diocesan priest of Fianarantsoa and Vice-Rector of the UCM.

Starting from the etymology of the term “mission”;, several essential themes are addressed. 

The three stages of mission in the New Testament were presented: Jesus sent by the Father, the apostles sent by Jesus and, finally, the mission of the Church, insisting on the mission of evangelization of Saint Paul. From these foundations, three epochs of the missionary impulse are also exposed: the mission of the Church in the first three centuries, the missionary work of the monks as well as the missionary impulse of the 16th century. Missiology is therefore to be understood in its triple dimension: theoretical, historical and theological.

The analysis of the documents of the magisterium, particularly those of the Second Vatican Council as well as certain texts of Saint John Paul II and Pope Francis, has made it possible to shed more light on the current challenges of the mission.  Chapter 7 of Lumen Gentium insists on the missionary character of the Church, called to lead humanity towards the fullness of Christ, her Head. The Trinitarian origin of God’s mission is rooted in the fulfilment of God’s plan of salvation in human history (cf. Eph 1:10; 3:2-9; Col 1:25). The mission thus appears as a response to the Father’s plan, a continuation in the Son’s mission and a contemporary collaboration with the Holy Spirit.

The nature and content of the Church’s evangelizing mission were also specified: witness to the Christian life, proclamation of salvation, preaching of hope, commitment to just liberation and human promotion, rejection of violence. While the fundamental principles and content remain immutable, the means of evangelisation adapt with time, place and culture. To carry out this mission, three essential attitudes are required: the spirit of openness (going out), the spirit of renewal (aggiornamento) and the spirit of discernment (sign of the times).

Six criteria are required for an authentic missionary: 1- God’s call with natural qualities such as health, intelligence, practicality, etc. 2- the free and generous response, 3- the confirmation of the Church, 4- the sending of the Church in the name of God, 5- the readiness to go out (geographical, social, cultural, family, religious), 6- apostolic charity and apostolic zeal. It is a question of letting oneself be led by the Spirit, of cultivating acceptance and docility to the Spirit, of living the mystery of Christ and communion with him, sent by the Father, of accepting self-denial and of loving the Church and men like Jesus.

These are the essential points that we retain from this particularly enriching training. It has given rise to a real renewal for the apostolic year that has barely begun by reaffirming that we are all missionaries by virtue of our baptism, wherever we are sent.

Sister Marie-Clémence RAVAONIRIANA has arrived safely in the community of Sittingbourne, England.

The return of sister Monique SAMAT to Madagascar, her home province, is scheduled for November 11 after a transition period in France. We thank her for her generous service in Europe and accompany her with our prayer and fraternal affection.

They are so grateful to have had this opportunity.

The aim of this training was to "enable them to learn how to react in the event of danger to the lives of others and to save lives through the right first aid gestures." It was very interesting because there was both theory and practice.

This training is an excellent opportunity that has taught them "an introduction to first aid and how to keep their cool while waiting for the arrival of help such as those of the Fire Brigade."  

They are very grateful to the formator, Mr Grégoire, from the Order of Malta team, who gave them this opportunity which will help them a lot when they are confronted with people in emergency situations and at risk.

• To give thanks for the joy that life gives in Christ.
• To live in communion with the Church, in her diversity.
• To let ourselves be challenged to live ever better as pilgrims of Hope, on the paths of peace.

The crossed views of Bruno Cadoré (doctor, Dominican) and Elena Lassida (professor of economics, committed to the care of creation) reminded us that the path of Hope must first be a path of humanity; our communities must remember this essential aspect.     

We must learn to maintain fraternal relations with each other.

The strength of a community, said the man who was master of the Dominican order, is diversity and not uniformity. It is important to give a large place to memory, to give brothers and sisters the opportunity to speak when they have heavy memories to carry, sometimes related to cultural or power issues. We must learn to maintain fraternal relations with each other. Elena, who was very influenced by Laudato Si, invited us to change our view of the world. Ecology is a major issue in our society, but the encyclical goes further; it invites us to take care of the quality of our relationships, at different levels. We all have to give and receive.

Sunday morning, we had the chance to walk in small groups with brothers and sisters whom we got to know... sharing the Gospel, exchanging on what had marked us the day before.

On this 27th of August, we are happy to celebrate together the jubilees of our two sisters :

Sister Michèle's golden jubilee takes us back to the time of the Mysterium Christi Federation, on June 29, 1975, when she celebrated her first commitment in Saint Quentin.

Sister Lydie's Silver Jubilee broadens our horizons, from Ambatolampy in Madagascar where she made her first vows, on August 14, 2002, to Chile where she accomplished a good part of her mission, which she continues today in Europe.

Our two Sisters have woven a covenant with Christ, with the Congregation and with the Church. Before us, they will renew the offering of their lives.Together with all the sisters of the European Delegation and all those celebrating their jubilee this year, we join in their thanksgiving. JUBILATE! SHOUT FOR JOY!

I, Sister Michèle Marchant, give thanks to God in a very special way this year, for my 50 years of consecration to God. He nourished me, supported me, and made me live his paschal mystery with him every day.

I also give thanks for all the fraternal sisters with whom I have shared prayer, community life and apostolic commitments.

I give thanks again for the 400th anniversary of the Sisters of the Cross who became Sisters of Christ.  Through their teaching and their promotion of women among the people of Saint-Quentin, through their passage through the trials of the French Revolution, industrialization, the laws of separation of Church and State, their care of the wounded during wars, the Sisters of the Cross leave us a magnificent example of spiritual freedom and apostolic audacity.

We celebrated this anniversary with the young people and adults of St John of La Croix and the Sisters of Christ who came for this occasion.

Our congregation became the Sisters of Christ almost 50 years ago. For this renewal and our mission to be Witnesses of Jesus Christ, Artisan of Unity, I give thanks once again.

God has given so much. With His Son and His Spirit, He gave everything of Himself.

GRATEFULNESS, JOY and LIFE that fill my heart as I celebrate 25 YEARS OF RELIGIOUS LIFE. I have lived my vocation to the consecrated life with my personal quotes: "Be always joyful. Pray without ceasing, express your gratitude in every circumstance, for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus" (1 Thessalonians 5:16-18).

Lord, here I am before you! With joy we celebrate the 25th anniversary of religious life. With all my heart, I thank you for the gift of life and for your call that you have given me. With you, day after day, I recognize that this is a vocation that requires availability, a generous and faithful response. In reality, you are the one who is faithful thanks to your unconditional love. Thank you, Lord, for your faithfulness in me, for the gifts you have given me, for the joy of living because everything is grace.

Lord! how could I not praise you? You are love, light, life, the source of my joy, yes, everything comes from you. I thank you for all the people I have met during these years, and I am grateful for each and every one of you: from Madagascar, Chile, Bolivia, France, Rome ... Thank you, Lord, for all the people I have accompanied, of different nationalities, ages, cultures, histories, lives, at the same time, they have the same dignity before you. Thank you, Lord, for all the sisters of the communities, for all that we have lived together, for my training classes from the postulancy to the novitiate, we are always united and difference is our wealth. I am amazed by your presence in each and every one of you.

Today, I am in the community of Epernon. I thank you for each of my sisters, for the volunteers, for our mission at the Priory and for the companions of the Christian Life Community (CLC) whom I accompany. The Brothers of the Sacred Heart (managers of a Paradis nursing home in Espaly – very close to our community) welcome us fraternally every day for the Eucharistic celebration.

The announcement of this centenary is a source of joy for everyone. The Eucharist will be celebrated in the very modern chapel, with several resident priests and friends.

The Chapel, on the ground floor, can hold the usual managers of the house, but also, about thirty faithful. Residents, our sisters and our friends were welcome.

The Mass was concelebrated by seven of our priest friends, the families or people closest to the community participated; Sister Dominique Marie Sert representing Retournac, Sister Jeannine Ardaillon Ste Sigolène, Sister Odile Demur and Sister Marie-Thérèse Cuoq on family vacation, and Sister Marie Aimée Magnier, former pupil of Marie Jo in Soissons.

The solemn mass was quiet because of the timetable of the nursing home; the meal etcetera. We had chosen, for the occasion, the texts and songs dear to Marie Jo.

The accessible car park and a beautiful spacious entertainment room, glazed on two sides and opening onto the outside, were available to us to share a glass of friendship (residents, guests, priests, staff...)  It was up to us to make it festive and enjoyable.

The wine of the region, Rosé, and the varied buffet composed of toasts, cold cuts of meat, biscuits, canopies and raw vegetables were widely appreciated by the participants.

The Mayor of Polignac, who was unable to come, delegated a deputy in charge of social affairs, who knew the community. He presented the wishes of the municipality and gave Sr. Marie Jo a booklet on Polignac.

With exact timing, the guests then went to the IBIS restaurant.

So here we were, 24 people close to Marie Jo, priests and a brother of the Sacred Heart, a nephew of Marie Jo and his wife, an associate -a great old friend of Bar-le-Duc-, a couple who are friends of the community, all seated at two parallel tables. Marie Jo designed the table plan and above all she hand-painted the individualized place cards. They showed a great deal of precision work but above all attention to each person.

Finally, the time came to share the birthday cake made by the restaurant, with its three central candles (100) that Marie Jo blew out without any problem.  It was served with champagne offered by Yves Gérard, a Meuse priest and long-time friend.

I am happy to share with you my great joy during the Eucharist of this great stage of my life. It was an unforgettable day. This 27th of July will remain a day of celebration and joy for me. A day when I made my perpetual vows to the Lord. With these vows, I have offered my whole life to Him, trusting in His eternal love. I thank the Lord for the wonders He has bestowed upon me during my personal journeys. I entrust to Him the continuation of my journey by following Christ in the Congregation of the Sisters of Christ. Like the bride who advances towards her beloved, I have come to this day of joy, to offer to the Lord the total gift of my life. In the light of the Eucharist, I made my perpetual vows, supported by peace and the deep joy of knowing that I am His forever. On July 27th, the Lord filled me with grace and joy. He has allowed me to say yes to Him forever through my perpetual vows. This day was a day of peace and gratitude for me. I feel loved by God, and I thank Him for this infinite love. I am very grateful to the Lord, and ready to fulfil my mission by giving Him glory. The day I made my perpetual vows was a happy and special day for me. A day of abundant grace that I had never imagined. The name Sisters Christ, Union Mysterium Christi, calls me to be a member very close to Jesus. It was a day of joy and spiritual fortitude for me, for the Congregation, for my family and for the whole Church. I am grateful to the Lord, and I thank Him for all the life He gives me. Sr Schinina

On this day of July 27th, my heart overflows with gratitude and joy. With my perpetual vows, I respond to God's call with my whole life. It is to accept to belong to Him forever, in joy as in trial. I feel united to his faithful love; this gesture is not only a promise to God, but also a witness offered to the world. The Fanantenana Soanierana Antananarivo community began the celebration on Saturday, August 2 with the Sacrament of Penance. The celebration was preceded by a triduum in the community. The opening Mass was celebrated at the parish of Our Lady of Suffrage, Soanierana, in the presence of the associates and the faithful. Father Ndrina, parish priest, presided over the Mass.

During the three days that preceded it, each community of Soanierana, Sainte Chantal and Fanantenana organized its own times of prayer and thanksgiving. On August 6, they all met together to celebrate the solemn Mass in the parish.

The celebration was followed by a fraternal meal.

August 6, 2025: We are invited to rejoice in the launch of the Jubilee Year. As joy increases when it is shared, our three communities in Brittany are gathering in Merdrignac.

11 a.m.: two parishioners join our assembly for the Eucharist, as well as Jacques Brajeul, director of the nursing home and Sister Pascale, who arrived the day before. Pacôme, a priest from Benin, replacing our parish priest on vacation, had taken the time to read "Birth and Rebirth" to immerse himself in the history of the Sisters of Christ. We feel he has been touched by this spiritual path.

The meal is both simple and festive, the relaxed atmosphere includes serious moments that help you discover where the vocation of a nun is sometimes rooted...

This day is an opportunity to expand the space of our tents, to feel part of the same Body, open to those around us.

"Let us give glory to our God, who did wonders, He is present in our midst, now and forever."

It was with great joy that we participated in the Eucharist that opened the Jubilee 2025-2026 of the Congregation of the Sisters of Christ. It was presided over by Cardinal Fernando CHOMALI, who thanked us for the work we are doing in Chile and in the world.

In his homily, Cardinal CHOMALI highlighted the important work carried out by the Sisters of Christ in the world, especially in Chile. He thanked them for this service and encouraged them to continue to persevere in their evangelizing and missionary work. He invited the whole community to take care of us, to pray for us, for the congregation and for vocations.

We experienced a lot of emotion at the time of the Gospel, when the sisters performed a dance typical of their country for the proclamation of the word of God.

After participating in the Eucharist, the sisters and associates invited the community in general to fraternal sharing, to give thanks for these 50 years of our Congregation, and to continue with great faith, service and hope, fulfilling our mission of "Achieving the unity of the universe through Christ"

The community of the Chapel of San Alberto Hurtado also wanted to express their gratitude to the Sisters of Christ for their service in the community. On this occasion, thanks were also given to the vocation of Deacon Manuel Muñoz, who presided over the celebration that providentially coincided with the feast of San Lorenzo, patron saint of deacons.La chapelle 

The young people associated with our charism were also present at the beginning of the Jubilee Year of the Congregation.

"A BEAUTIFUL BEGINNING FULL OF FAITH, HOPE AND GRATITUDE !"

This memorable day began with a moving candle-lighting ceremony at the entrance to the Eucharistic celebration, a symbol of light and hope. Each of the sisters took part in this luminous procession, illuminating the path to the altar where the celebration took place.

The procession continued with graceful and harmonious dance steps, everyone taking their places with joy and enthusiasm. The Mass, presided over by Father Joseph Alpha assisted by Deacon Raymond, was a highlight of the celebration, where songs and prayers expressed our unity and our commitment to live together.

During the Mass, we had the joy of celebrating a special moment: the renewal of the fidelity of our sister Florentine, who celebrated her twenty-five years of religious life. This moment was a testament to his love and commitment to God and our congregation.

We were also honoured by the presence of an associate, Mr. HAPPY Thierry, among us, who shared our joy and celebration. His presence was a sign of the unity and communion that exists among us.

After the mass, we shared a festive meal, a moment of conviviality and joy. The sisters of the Tiko community opened the evening with a song composed by them for the fiftieth anniversary, followed by the temporary professed who presented traditional and intercultural dances.

We gave thanks for the blessings received and expressed our gratitude for God's presence in our lives.

Words of Cardinal Marty pronounced during the homily at the Mass of December 29th, 1976, as they continue to speak to us forcefully:

"The Spirit of God is there continually with us... The Holy Spirit has surprises in store for us! God's imagination and Love are never exhausted... The Holy Spirit will be there at every stage, always provoking you to new things... You must never be bored... never be discouraged... Demolishing is always quite easy. Well, the Spirit does not demolish, the Spirit always builds.

Let's enter into the celebration of our 50th anniversary with a lot of creativity and joy!

The General Council

The theme is always, "pilgrims of hope", inviting every Christian to live in hope, according to the message of Pope Francis.

The message of Cardinal Tsarahazana Désiré, papal legate for this event, focused on faith and hope. He called on believers to face difficulties with confidence in Jesus Christ, the source of true hope. He also exhorted the faithful to love their neighbour, especially the poor. This spiritual event brought together all the Bishops of Madagascar.

The pilgrimage was marked by a prayer vigil, the sacrament of penance, the Rosary and adoration of the Blessed Sacrament. Madagascar was consecrated to the Sacred Heart of Jesus during this precious moment. The Cardinal had the opportunity to share his experience during the Pope's election in Rome. The Holy Year of the Catholic Church marks a time of conversion and penance.

What a beautiful and moving account of the celebration!

You can feel the joy and affection that surrounded Sister Delfina during her 60 years of religious life. The Eucharist presided over by Father Juan Alberto Aguirre, Redemptorist priest, the presence of the sisters of her Congregation, the staff of the home and the nuns who live with her and who come from different congregations, her relatives, especially her two brothers and two nephews, made this moment a very special one.

And for us, as Sisters of Christ, it was very moving to witness to Sister Delfina's faithful love to the Lord's call, a great witness for all of us.

It was very touching to know that, despite Alzheimer's disease, Sister Delfina was connected, happy and calm during the celebration. It shows the profound impact that this day full of love and gratitude had on her heart.

The post-Eucharistic communion, with the participation of all the sisters and staff, created an atmosphere of joy and unity, a beautiful testimony of their affection for Sister Delfina.

What a beautiful detail: her brother Andrés animated the party with his guitar and songs that she loved and sang in the past. Music has a special power to bring back memories and emotions, and it was surely a very meaningful gift for her and for everyone present.

Without a doubt, it was a day full of grace and gratitude for Sister Delfina's 60 years of dedication and service to the Lord. What a blessing to be able to celebrate these important moments with her!

Far too many people are living in precarious situations today. Eating, washing... become a constant preoccupation that exhausts the taste for life!

So, young and old alike answer the call when it comes to collecting food and hygiene products at the exit of the shops.

To sustain the taste for life, to be a servant of Hope, is very concrete and easy: it is to believe that sharing is possible!

We offer a beautiful pink plastic bag, and we say: "If you wish, you can put food or soap in it, and you leave it with us at the exit!"

We hope that our request will have an echo and .... We are not disappointed! At the end of the day, the collection exceeds our expectations: donations, yes - but much more – human encounters with so many people who agree to participate!

Sister Josyane, Rome community

At 11 a.m. a solemn Mass is celebrated in the chapel of the residence where Sister Marie Thérèse ROUDIER lives. The Mass is concelebrated by four priests. It is attended by a large assembly of the faithful of this house as well as the Sisters of Christ, gathered on this day with our Sister, Marie Therese.

The celebration takes place in the luminous chapel with stained glass windows depicting the wonders of Le Puy - the statue of Notre Dame de France, the Saint-Michel rock and the Cathedral.

 

Marie Thérèse seems a little confused by so much attention and praise; the best place in the chapel, a neat and carefully chosen outfit, then a special song sheet and a sheet with the formula for the Sisters to renew their vows in solidarity with her.

 

It is Good Shepherd Sunday; “God has called us all”; Go to the Lord with songs of joy...; I have chosen you; I have established you...

Thanksgiving for the life given and the insight received

Friends who are present, are invited to this Eucharist and to the refreshments that follow.

Then, a small group (nine because of the absence of Sister Monique, victim of a fall and hospitalized) participate in the meal in a room, well decorated for the occasion with:

Flowers, balloons, lights, posters and photos of Marie Thérèse.

After the meal, served by the house, and a superb jubilee cake, a long festive time followed by songs by Father Duval accompanied on the guitar by Father Roux, our chaplain and friend.

Marie Thérèse was radiant as she sang, with the help of Sister Maria Luisa, in Spanish.

Her years of mission in Chile regained their importance. We were all moved to see Marie Thérèse, transformed and almost in ecstasy, singing with her eyes closed, a classic to Maria « Bendita sea tu pureza » a classic from Chile.

 

Her determination and commitment to her vocation touched all present.

The Mass brought together the members of the community; all there to support Odette at this important moment in her life. Father Evariste spoke inspiring words, evoking the spiritual path that Odette is about to take. Her determination and commitment to her vocation touched all present.

After the homily, Sr. Emérentienne RAMORAVELO, Superior General of the Sisters of Christ, welcomed Odette as a novice with warmth and kindness. This welcome symbolizes the beginning of a new stage, during which Odette will be able to deepen her faith and prepare herself for a life of service and devotion.

To mark this passage, we accompanied Odette to the novitiate house. It was an emotional moment. Laughter and smiles illuminated our gathering, while everyone shared their encouragement and wishes for Odette's future.

To mark this passage, we accompanied Odette to the novitiate house. It was an emotional moment. Laughter and smiles illuminated our gathering, while everyone shared their encouragement and wishes for Odette's future. Odette's entry into the novitiate is a precious step in her journey of faith. She embarks on a path of inner discovery and service to others. We are all excited to see how she will thrive in this new vocation.

We wish her all the best and pray that this new adventure will be rich in spiritual experiences and encounters. May her faith continue to grow and inspire those around her! 

The Liturgy of the Hours – also called the Prayer of the Church or the Divine Office – is the daily prayer of the Church that is spread over the whole day, marked by 8 different offices, including Lauds, the middle of the day and Vespers. It has been simplified since the Second Vatican Council, which encouraged its practice among the laity.

The Divine Office extends the prayer of Jesus himself, who, like every Jewish man, nourished his prayer and his relationship with the Father with the recitation of the psalms. Today, when the baptized celebrate a service, it is the Church, and Christ who is in her, who prays the Liturgy of the Hours, destined to become the prayer of the whole People of God. Each one participates according to his own vocation and the circumstances of his life.

It aims to sanctify time, to sanctify the daily rhythm of human life. Its function is to praise God and to cry out to Him from morning to night. At every moment of the day or night, there are always believers, who somewhere on earth, alone or in groups, pray one of the divine services. The Liturgy of the Hours never stops but it allows the baptized to associate themselves through the psalms with all their brothers and sisters throughout the world, whatever their situations: distress or joy, war or peace, health or illness... Cry to the Father or Thanksgiving!

To pray the Divine Office in the hospital is to remember that Christ is truly present in this place with us, doctors, caregivers, administrative staff or the sick.

I experienced the dynamics of the key that moved me deeply; opening the little box that is our heart where we keep so many happy and sad emotions such as death, illnesses, pandemics, resentments, lack of forgiveness and love.

TO LIVE OUR CHARISM TO PROMOTE FORGIVENESS, RECONCILIATION AND UNITY FOR WHICH I PRAY TO CHRIST.

I was very emotional because in 2023 I had a very complicated year.

I had COVID 19 and a liver transplant and now I am in treatment to get my voice back. The key to my heart has been opened by God with all the prayers of my community. I understood that illness is not a punishment, but for us to grow in the glory of God. It will make us go through the fire to be a new glass. His love is the flower and his mercy is the fruit. 

I really wanted to be present on this beautiful day to give a testimony of FAITH and PRAYER.

From the years I have been associated with the Sisters, I have learned to develop my gifts, to grow in Christ in the Faith: prayer, reading the Holy Bible, having a benevolent attitude, knowing how to listen, promoting the Kingdom of God and learning to accept his will; also, to live our charism to promote forgiveness,  the reconciliation and unity for which I pray to Christ.

In Lariano (Lazio)  on Sunday, September 22nd , the 100th birthday of Sister Susanna Testa was celebrated at the Mass of the parish of Santa Maria Intemerata at 11:30 a.m., a Mass animated by the choir and in which a considerable crowd participated as a sign of gratitude and affection to Sister Susanna Testa who had founded the community of Lariano in 1980.

A buffet took place at 1 p.m. in the new parish hall, speeches, multiple exchanges, blessings, songs and the 100th anniversary cake raised an atmosphere of joyful and fraternal conviviality.

Happy and grateful to God, we were finally able to make this missionary project a reality as members of the Congregation of the Sisters of Christ. It was a great experience, we had beautiful, moving moments and it allowed us to see and hear experiences in the area, we hope that this will be the first of many missions.

Grateful to God for so many gifts, in the mission. We had moments of listening, blessing the houses, contemplating the lives of the people we met, in their different situations, God is there. Walking all morning, I felt that at every stop, the Lord was there, without fear, only surrender and acceptance. For me, it was like a balm from God to continue to persevere in this project as a Congregation and associates, which makes me grow in faith and hope.

My missionary experience on October 19th was quite positive. I thought I might be useless, but the Lord showed me something else. I found that I like to communicate with my neighbour with patience and love and that if I can serve God in this way, I will continue to do so.

This is a city that is located in the central-western part of Madagascar, 260 km from Antananarivo. Tsiroanomandidy is the capital of the Bongolava region.

In Tsiroanomandidy, our mission was to explore and analyse the crucial role that young people play in the economic development of the region. This city is a hotbed of economic activity and social dynamics, where young people hold a special place. The theme guided our research-work and we were divided into three sub-groups: the radio group, the print media group, and the documentary group. 

The Radio Group: A Voice for the Youth of Tsiroanomandidy

The radio group set itself the task of producing a radio programme focusing on the theme of the study tour. To do this, the young students first collected information on the ground by interviewing young people, local businesses and economic development experts. After the collection, they proceeded to edit the audio segments, creating a program ready to be broadcast. This program will then be handed over to a local radio station which will be in charge of broadcasting it, thus allowing the voices of the youth of Tsiroanomandidy to be heard by a wider audience. 

The Written Press Group: reporting the essentials

The members of the print media group, of which I am an integral member, have set about writing a newspaper report on the observations and analyses made in the area. Each of the members had chosen a specific topic to deal with,in line with our central theme.  They carried out field visits to collect data and testimonies before moving on to writing their articles. The result will be a content-rich journal, offering a comprehensive overview of the importance of young people in Tsiroanomandidy’s development. 

The Documentary Group: Capturing Reality Through the Lens

The documentary group, for its part, embarked on the production of a documentary film. After determining the angle of approach to the film, they began creating video footage, highlighting the initiatives of young people in a variety of economic sectors. The highlights were then carefully selected to match the theme, before moving on to the final edit.

This study trip to Tsiroanomandidy is not only a hands-on learning opportunity, but also an enriching experience. Through the work of each sub-group, this project illustrates the importance of youth in the economic and social development of an area. 

At 11 a.m., during the festive Mass, Sisters Anne-Marie and Madeleine renew their vows after 70 years of profession! Sisters Marie-Etienne and Christiane after 60 years of religious life! 

The atmosphere is serene, but at the same time there is a deep joy in the assembly, a sense of wonder, thanksgiving and thanks for the witness of fidelity expressed on this day. 

A real celebration! which is prolonged by feasts, served by the staff of the nursing home, where joys, laughter, songs, dances will manifest what dwells in the heart of everyone; families, friends and sisters of Merdrignac and the surrounding communities.

A WONDER, A THANKSGIVING AND A THANK YOU FOR THE WITNESS OF FIDELITY EXPRESSED ON THIS DAY

From Bretagne…… September 12, 2024

In Retournac on Sunday, September 22nd, Sisters Margueritte, Sylvia and Christine celebrated their silver jubilee, already 25 years old!. In the parish church, a banner "The Lord needs it" reiterated the meaning of the call to religious life. 

Each of the jubilarians introduced themselves and together they renewed their vows. It was a beautiful ceremony "worthy of a perpetual profession" whose witness can mark Christians.

Outside, around the glass of friendship, tongues were loosened in exchanges between sisters and parishioners. 

Then the meal was served at the house of the elder sisters: 48 people including the sisters of other neighboring communities or... Distant! , the Associates of the Sisters of Christ of Lyon, associate friends, etc....Fraternal Agapes!! In short, a beautiful and exciting party! 

Associates are always free to renew this promise, each year, if they wish to do so. 

It was an immense joy to welcome him, as an Associate, to our congregation. This joy is explained by the fact that he is the first Associate in our Cameroon Delegation. 

May the Lord finish in him what he has begun.

We wish him grace to give a good witness of life and a good witness of our charism in his parish and wherever the Spirit wants to lead him.

It was a very beautiful celebration!

Our charism: To be witnesses to Jesus Christ, the “source and maker of unity” is a gift to be shared, to be lived with others, wherever the Spirit wants to lead us.
